  • 12/31/07 - Stoney Hunt of Modesto was found unsuitable for parole at a 12-27-07 hearing of the State Board of Prison Terms in Mule Creek State Prison.
  • 12/04/07 - Stanislaus County District Birgit Fladager announced today that Timothy Floyd Smith, age 36, of Modesto, was sentenced to 11 years in prison after an October 11, 2007 jury trial. Deputy District Attorney Michael D. Houston was the assigned prosecutor.
  • 11/30/07 - The District Attorney’s Office Victim Services Program is sponsoring the 10th annual lighting of the Homicide Victims’ Memorial Tree and Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday, December 12th at 6PM.
  • 11/26/07 - Stanislaus County District Attorney Birgit Fladager announced today that Surya Chand, age 57, of Seattle was found unsuitable for parole after a November 15th, 2007 hearing of the State Board of Prison Terms held at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville.
  • 11/13/07 - Stanislaus County District Attorney Birgit Fladager announced today that Scot Pringle, age 36, of Modesto, was convicted of various felony crimes after entering guilty pleas on November 6, 2007 just minutes before opening statements were to begin in his felony jury trial.
  • 11/06/07 - District Attorney Birgit Fladager announced today that a forensic dental record examination has confirmed that human remains recovered last week are that of Dena Raley-McCluskey.
  • 10/30/07 - Stanislaus County District Birgit Fladager announced today that Jabari Lee Craft, age 20, of Modesto, was convicted of one count of inflicting injury upon a child after a jury trial on October 26, 2007.
  • 10/25/07 - Stanislaus County District Attorney Birgit Fladager announced today that HECTOR CARRERA of Lancaster was found unsuitable for parole at a 24 October 2007 hearing of the State Board of Prison Terms at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.
  • 10/15/07 - Stanislaus County District Attorney Birgit Fladager announced today that on October 15th, 2007, Brian Brummett, age 18, of Modesto was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Hurl W. Johnson to serve 11 years and 4 months in state prison for his conviction for assault with a deadly weapon, personal use of a gun, brandishing a weapon for the benefit of a gang and being an active participant in the Norteno Criminal Street Gang.
  • 10/12/07 - Stanislaus County District Attorney, Birgit Fladager announced today that Jeffrey Rush Price, age 44, of Modesto, was convicted Thursday of the 2003 murder of Michelle Perkins after a two week jury trial held in Department 7 before Judge Donald Shaver.
  • 10/12/07 - Stanislaus County District Birgit Fladager announced today that Jesus Contreras Galvan, age 36, of Modesto was sentenced to life in state prison after having been previously convicted after a jury trial held in September.
  • 10/12/07 - Stanislaus County District Birgit Fladager announced today that Paul Michael Ruiz, age 33, of Modesto, was convicted on Tuesday, October 9th, 2007, following a one week jury trial before the Honorable Scott Steffen.
  • 10/12/07 - Stanislaus County District Attorney, Birgit Fladager, announced that Manuel Cabrera Garcia, age 38, of Modesto, was sentenced to state prison after a pretrial hearing in Department 7 of the Superior Court before Judge Donald Shaver.

  • 06/01/07 - Naju Rodriguez was denied parole after his second Parole Board Hearing held last Friday, June 1, 2007, at Solano State Prison in Vacaville.
  • 05/04/07 - Charles Robison, age 53, of Modesto was sentenced to 25 years in prison for carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon and second degree burglary.

  • 03/28/07 - Jose Manuel Duarte-Rodriguez has been convicted by a Stanislaus County Superior Court Jury of first degree murder.
  • 03/27/07 - Carl Bourque, 27, of Modesto, pled guilty to carjacking, kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 11 years 8 months in prison.
  • 03/26/07 - Artith Loann Grimm, age 53, of Modesto, was ordered by Judge Nancy Ashley to pay $96,340.50 after a restitution hearing.
  • 03/22/07 - Christine Pfitzer, age 42, of Modesto, was ordered today to pay $210,992.99 as restitution for embezzling from the owners of McHenry Auto Sales.
  • 03/22/07 - Glenn Gary, 59, of Modesto was found unsuitable for parole at a March 21st hearing of the State Board of Prison Terms at Folsom State Prison.
  • 03/20/07 - Jermaine Dean, Tommy Nichols & Kevin Trice, of Pasadena California were convicted on Friday, March 16th, 2007 of Murder in the First Degree.
  • 03/06/07 - Danise McFadden, 38, of Modesto was convicted of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter Monday after a four-day jury trial.
  • 03/06/07 - Benjamin Ballard, 48, was found unsuitable for parole at a hearing held by the State Board of Prison Terms at San Quentin prison on February 23, 2007.
  • 02-27-07 - Jimmie McVane, age 75, of Modesto, was found unsuitable for parole at a February 23, 2007 hearing of the State Board of Prison Terms in Represa, California.
  • 02-26-07 - Jonathon McIntyre, of Modesto, was found unsuitable for parole at a February 16, 2007 hearing of the State Board of Prison Terms in Soledad, California.
  • 02-26-07 - Jaime Recio, age 25, of Modesto, was found unsuitable for parole at a February 23, 2007 hearing of the State Board of Prison Terms in Ione, California.
  • 02/12/07 - Joshua Cothran, age 26, was convicted of one count of voluntary manslaughter and three counts of elder abuse.
  • 02/08/07 - Edward Trifoglio was convicted of voluntary manslaughter on Monday, February 5th in Department 2 before Judge Silveria.
  • 02/06/07 - Bobby Akio Bue, age 21, of Olivehurst, was sentenced on Friday February 2nd, 2007 to 11 years and 8 months in state prison after pleading no contest.
  • 02/05/07 - Efren Valencia, age 29, was convicted late tuesday afternoon of felony assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, and causing great bodily injury.
  • 02/05/07 - James Bartlett, age 42, and Gregory Norsworthy, age 39, both of Keyes, were finally sentenced almost 18 months after a Stanislaus County jury convicted them last July 15th, 2005.
  • 01/30/07 - Mahmoud Ahmed Kalil, age 65, of Modesto, pled no contest today to two misdemeanor counts of practicing veterinary medicine without a license.
  • 01/26/07 - Maria Leon, 44, of Riverbank; Jose Gaona, 28, of Riverbank; Luis Penaloza, 36, of Oakdale; and Eved Romero, 20, of Olivehurst, California have been held to answer on murder and conspiracy to commit murder charges after a two-day preliminary hearing.
  • 01/24/07 - Jimmy Mendez Alvarado Sr., age 42, of Riverbank, was convicted after a jury trial that ended January 23rd, 2007, of felony annoying or molesting a child 14 or 15 years of age.
  • 01/12/07 - Homer Lee Dixon, age 41, of Brentwood, was sentenced by Judge Nancy Ashley to five years in prison. The defendant admitted that he fraudulently received income through Alameda County's In Home Support Services Program.
