The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s office is responsible for the prosecution of criminals in Stanislaus County. I take pride in the dedication shown by all our employees who work hard to ensure that Stanislaus County is a safe place for all to live.

| Provides highly responsible administrative and management assistant to the District Attorney in planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing all functions and activities of the District Attorney's office; direct, lead, supervise and guide management staff by establishing departmental goals, policies and performance measures/standards and conducting periodic evaluations and/or counseling of management staff regarding performance and career development consistent with the County and departmental mission and expectations. Assist in the development and administration of the Office's budget and personnel allocation Represent the District Attorney in contacts with other county departments, the press and local, regional and statewide law enforcement meetings as well as appear before various civic, law enforcement, professional, educational and business groups. Perform a variety of special assignments as dictated by the District Attorney or the needs of the office. |

| The Administrative Division is responsible for oversight of the Special Investigations Unit, the Victim Services Unit, and the Technical Services Unit. In addition, the Chief Deputy is also responsible for collateral duties such as extraditions (returning charged individuals who have fled this state), detainer actions (in-custody inmates in other states who have charges pending in Stanislaus County), training of personnel, court appearances in firearms cases brought under Welfare and Institutions Code §8103, and administering to the various grant programs being utilized within the District Attorney's Office. Finally, the Administrative Chief Deputy often acts as ombudsman for e-mails received through this website. |

| The Felony Trial Division consists of Crimes against Children Unit, Criminal Street Gang Crimes, Drug Enforcement Unit, and the General Felony Trial team. |

| The Specialized Division is responsible for the prosecution of certain crimes that have been determined to require vertical prosecution. The following sub-units are in the Specialized Division. Auto Insurance Fraud, Career Criminal Cases, Child Abduction, Domestic Violence, High Technology Crimes, Juvenile Justice, Major Narcotics Vendor Cases, Statutory Rape Vertical Prosecution Unit, Vehicle Theft, Violence Against Women, and Workers Compensation Fraud. |

| The criminal division of the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office is located in the Court House at the corner of 11th and I Streets in Downtown Modesto. The criminal division consists of several specialized units and a general crimes unit. General crimes are divided into misdemeanors and felonies. |
