In section 999b of the Penal Code the California State Legislature states “a substantial and disproportionate amount of serious crime is committed against the people of California by a relatively small number of multiple and repeat felony offenders, commonly known as career criminals.”

The Career Criminal Division of the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office protects the citizens of Stanislaus County by concentrating prosecution efforts on repeat offenders who have chosen to continually prey on society and by seeking to have the most severe authorized sentence imposed upon those offenders.
