Case Tracking

MNVP cases are uniquely identified in the District Attorney computer information system (DACMS). Also, the file folder itself is color coded to identify it as belonging to the MINVP Unit. With both the computer and color codes, any court events calendared and any casework to be done are automatically assigned to MNVP staff. All files and records are maintained by the MNVP staff.

In addition to the computerized master calendar prepared daily by clerical staff the MNVP prosecutor personally maintains his own court appearance calendar to assure that he personally appears in court on all MNVP cases. He also uses a case summary form system to assist him in gathering data for grant reporting, entitled “Major Narcotic Vendor Prosecution Case Summary.” We have added a case status board to allow all agents to determine the status of a given case at a glance.
