Specific Crime Types

All of the drug trafficking offenses listed in Penal Code section 13883 are considered for major narcotics vendor prosecution. Particular emphasis has been and will continue to be placed on criminals involved in the manufacturing and wholesale distribution of methamphetamine.

The most serious offenders will be targeted. MNVP staff works closely with Stanislaus County law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate, and prosecute the most serious offenders.

Factors that are considered include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. The amount of controlled substance or chemicals involved

  2. The use of firearms by the traffickers

  3. The proximity of the trafficking offenses to local schools and danger to other children

  4. The seizure of large cash hoards and high dollar assets associated with the traffickers

  5. The criminal history of the traffickers, especially with relation to prior trafficking convictions pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 113702.2
